In the NLP training I first learned to understand, via simple observation, how others react to specific language and behavior; how they structure their thoughts and memories. Later I became more perceptive of how I reacted to other people. Eventually I started noticing my reactions as they were occurring. I would think to myself “Very interesting! It’s amazing how I do that! Do I want to continue reacting like that?” If the answer was no then I could simple choose to react differently. As a result, I have greater control over my emotional states. I have become more conscious of my behavior and thoughts and much more tolerant of others.
